Cognitive Endurance Is The Limit

Typing speed is no longer the limit, but your cognitive endurance.

A few weeks ago I posted a joke about racing to finish six agent sessions before an off-peak discount expired at 2 PM Beijing time. That was not a productivity story.

Work that took three hours takes forty five minutes, and the saved time never gets banked. Now we handle six problems instead of one at a time. Context switching is almost free for the model, but expensive for us. The model does not get tired between problems.

We build circuit breakers, backpressure and graceful degradation into every system we design, but there is none in ourselves.

I have not solved this either. Sometimes it's really hard to keep all balls in the air. But the old limits are gone and we have not replaced them with anything yet.
