Design for Delegation Not Participation

Too many agentic products waste your time by keeping you watching.

Either some slow chat window, or a progress bar, or they want you to approve every step. That is not the delegation we long for. That is an extra job.

The agentic tools that actually work get out of your way. The agent takes a task, runs it end to end, and hands control back when it finishes or gets stuck. You supervise. You do not babysit it.

It loops you in when it needs something, but you can trust it to get a job done and deliver you results. That is why Claude's Auto Mode changed how I work the moment it shipped.

Give the user the confidence to intervene if they see a result they do not like, or to verify the steps when a result looks odd. But allow them to be hands off and give them the feeling of work getting done by delegation, not by watching a machine do it slower than you would have done it by hand while they watch.
