Loud Versus Costly Decisions

Attention usually goes to whatever is loudest.

An active problem. A team that keeps asking the same question.

Meanwhile, a decision that is hard to undo gets made quietly, by someone who did not even realize how big it was. Or worse yet, by an agent running somewhere in CI and it gets merged with little oversight on impact.

Urgency and cost are not the same thing. A loud problem can be cheap to fix. A quiet decision can be expensive to reverse later.

The question worth asking is not how urgent this feels right now. It is how expensive this is to undo. Sort decisions by that, not by volume, and you spend your attention on the ones that actually matter.
