Seniors cannot delegate

I think some senior engineers struggle with delegation to agents more than non-engineers.

They read output and as soon as they see it heading the wrong way, they take over, and write it themselves. Then they conclude the tool is not good enough yet. Micromanagement.

Non-technical people like product managers and designers maybe struggle less, because they are used to giving work away and waiting for a result they can judge.

The skill is to let things run and iterate on the bigger picture. Judge the whole result, not the first step. Then change the rules, the context, the self-review loops, or the tests so the next run is better without you.

AI usage requires some management skills, and a lot of engineers never had to do that. Nobody asked them to delegate anything before. It is hard to convince the people who are best at doing the work to stop doing it themselves.
