We use AI tells you nothing

"We use AI" tells you almost nothing about how a team works.

Many people claim they are physically active and do sports, but one is 30kg overweight and the next one is in top shape. It might be the same sentence, but different realities of outcome.

With AI it is the same thing, it's not so interesting that people use it, but rather what for and what do they get out of it.

A report that says ninety percent of our engineers use AI is a feel-good number. It is the sport version of the answer. The useful version is a list of tasks people no longer do by hand, and the honest reason for the ones they still keep.
